Biscuit de tasse

I got a very nice gift for Christmas from my big brother and sister in law… since I’ve been spending more time in the kitchen, and I love to bake all kinds of sweets and cookies.

The concept: Bake cookies in different shapes with a notch to hang them on the coffee cups.

The shapes: spades, clubs, hearts, diamonds, bird, star, cat, cloud.
The book: 18 cookies recipes.

I have chosen that my first trial be the simple “Petits-Beurre”
Preparation Time: 20 min
Rest Time: 30 min
Cooking Time: 10 min

Heart Shape - cup cookiesThe following ingredients will make 20 biscuits:
70 g soft butter
90 g sugar
1 egg yolk
150 g white flour
A pinch of salt

(Note: if you want to bake the same cookies with a chocolate taste, just add 2 tablespoon of cocoa powder)

Instructions:
– Bring together the butter and the sugar until they form a creamy texture, then add the egg yolk and pinch of salt and mix well. Add the flour and stir delicately until you form a dough ball, then cover it with cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
– Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
– Roll out the dough and form shapes with the cookie cutters.
– Bake for 10 minutes in the oven and let it rest around 15 minutes before serving.
